Ling

Description: Ling have a long think body similar to an eel. They are usually greeny brown or bronze on their topside, have speckled sides and are white on the underside.

Where does it live: The Atlantic, Faroe Islands and around the UK shore.

When is it in season: Ling is best enjoyed from Summer to Spring. Ling spawn in the spring months and the fish are generally in poor condition during those months.

What does it eat: Ling are a predatory fish and eat other fish. They’re not fussy and will eat other whitefish such as Cod, Herring and Mackerel.

Size: Up to 1 metre.
