John Dory

Description: Along with its unusual name, John Dory are also an unusual looking fish. They are easily recognised by their flat bodies, their olive green colour and spines that rise from the dorsal fin. They have the mark of St Peter on the sides of their bodies and are easily recognised by that.

Where does it live: Found all around the world including Africa, Australasia and European waters.

When is it in season: All year round.

What does it eat: John Dory hunt by sucking prey into their mouths which they make into a tube like structure. They will eat other fish and some Squid.

Size: 32-50cm.
